YesAsia Editorial Description
This collection presents all three films in the blockbuster Hong Kong trilogy that inspired Martin Scorsese's Hollywood remake, The Departed. The original Infernal Affairs (2002) follows the parallel lives of a cop (Tony Leung) working undercover as a mobster and a mobster (Andy Lau) who has infiltrated the police force. Infernal Affairs II (2003) offers a prequel, while Infernal Affairs III (2003) ties up loose ends. All three films are both commercially and critically acclaimed for eschewing over-the-top action in favor of a more stylized and subdued storyline that builds on emotional and psychological tension.
Tony Leung, Andy Lau, Kelly Chen, Carina Lau, Shawn Yue, Edison Chen, and Eric Tsang are all among the fantastic cast that take you on a unforgettable ride. Now you can finally fully immerse yourself in the world of undercover moles, Yan (Tony Leung) and Ming (Andy Lau). Trace back to the beginnings of super police officer Yan (Shawn Yue) and clever triad member Ming (Edison Chen) who are placed on enemy lines facing risky odds that cause super tension simply too good to miss! Discover the full cinematic impact of this unbelievable box-office breaking Hong Kong cop versus crook saga that has made its place in Hong Kong movie history now!

Infernal Affairs
| This in no slam-bang bloody action film but an excellent examination of four characters caught up in their own Inferno. This film haunts; it stands up over time -- viewing a year or so later is just as powerful as the first time. If you want slash and burn, avoid this trilogy -- if you want strong performances abd excellent characterizations hung upon a stong plot, this is one you will not want to miss! |

Great Movie
|
Infernal Affairs is one of HK cinema's most impressive movies... It is a very intricate and clever film. The story is captivating, the actors are brilliant, the music is haunting and there are even some humourous moments too! The trilogy is great because you can watch it and link the story together as it unfolds. I would definitely highly recommend this movie to anyone! |

ok film, too hyped up
|
After all the hoo ha about Internal Affairs I bought the dvd to see what it was all about. Very disappointed!! It was dead slow to start and when it got started, it ended!! Theres was hardly any action just a load of repetative 'life-is-hard' talk. To me it seems the producer/makers of the film just got a loada VERY well known actors (whom I'm sure some of us are sick of seeing all the time) who are in almost every hong kong film produced in the last 2/3 decades. This is a very 'A' typical HK movie - good looking actors, well known people, good vs evil etc. Where are the new talents?? C'mon how original?! |

Excellant
| This is an excellant trilogy. Upon first viewing I like Infernal Affair 1 the best but overall I love Infernal Affair 2 the best. 3 is kinda weird but still okay. On the region lockout thing. It is region 3, but will work on most dvd players. I got a couple of movies like that where they won't work on a certain dvd player but will on another cause of that strange lockout feature. 5 Stars!!!!!!!! |

superb
superb
| this has to be one of the best hong kong trilogy i've EVER seen! the plot is so intriguing and you can't help but be sucked into watching all three movies in one sitting. (i did) i loved the first movie...and the second i'm particularly attached to because...well i like shawn yue and edison chen...the second movie was actually the developing of the characters. so to some people this arrangement of the movies was really confusing. the third movie was probably the one i liked least...because of the ending...but overall...everything was really good and i now have even greater hopes for the asian movie industry!! |
