Orz Boyz (DVD) (Gift Pack) (English Subtitled) (Taiwan Version) DVD Region 3
There's no need to "ORZ" (bow in apology and deference) when it comes to Orz Boyz! Best known as the author of Blue Gate Crossing which was adapted into a hit film in 2002, Taiwan novelist and first-time director Gillies Yang Ya Che won the Best Director prize at the 2008 Taipei Film Festival with this childhood charmer dedicated to kids who can't wait to grow up, and adults who wish they could be kids again. A surprise box office hit in Taiwan, Orz Boyz revolves around two overactive, troublemaking schoolboys, Liar No. 1 (Pang Chin Yu) and Liar No. 2 (Lee Kuan Yi), who run wild in the coastal town of Danshui. With seemingly no parents around to discipline them, the two mischievous boys spend their days pulling pranks, bullying classmates, and jumping from one imaginative adventure to another. What's fun for them is calamity for others as they wreak havoc after havoc on each other and the hapless people around them. For their countless shenanigans, the boys get slapped with library duty for the summer, but instead of fixing books, they start hatching up plans for their journey to the land of Orz where children instantly become adults and the good times never end.
This edition comes with a Qatar King keyring and bonus disc of special features:

Cape No. 7 (DVD) (Limited Edition) (Director's Cut) (English Subtitled) (Taiwan Version) DVD Region All
Van Fan (Actor) |
Tanaka Chie (Actor) |
Atari Kosuke (Actor) |
Wei Te Sheng (Director)
Starring popular singers from Taiwan and Japan, Cape No. 7 took the grand prize at the 2008 Taipei Film Festival with its heartwarming tale of music and longing. After running dry in Taipei, failed singer Aga (Van) returns to his picturesque coastal hometown of Hengchun and joins a band thrown together by Japanese concert promoter Tomoko (Tanaka Chie). With members ranging from age 10 to 80, there's more bumbling than rocking for this ragtag bunch, but a new love song awaits when Aga and Tomoko find 7 undelivered letters written 60 years ago. As entertaining and enjoyable as moviemaking gets, Cape No. 7 is Taiwan's reigning local box office champ, and is gaining much attention from neighboring Asian territories. First-time director Wei Te Sheng delivers an undeniable crowd pleaser, chockfull of humor, romance, nostalgia, and wonderfully quirky characters. Cape No. 7 was nominated for seven awards at the 45th Golden Horse Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. Featuring appearances by Taiwanese singers Shino Lin and Rachel Liang and Japanese singer Atari Kosuke, in a special dual role.
The Director's Cut edition of Cape No. 7 comes with 2 DVDs containing the feature film, a "making of" featurette, audio commentary, and deleted scenes. Also included are a replica of the film's famous love letters, a stationery set, a sheet of commemorative postage stamps, a collectible senitype, a replica Cape No. 7 metal address plate, and a copy of the film's poster seen at the Pusan International Film Festival.

Tea Fight (DVD) (Taiwan Version) DVD Region 3
Vic Chou (Actor) |
Toda Erika (Actor) |
Kagawa Teruyuki (Actor) |
Janine Chang (Actor)
Movies don't get much odder than this: Tea Fight. Applying ancient curses, modern duels, underground rivalries, and journeyman adventures to, yes, the art of tea, Tea Fight rolls out stylishly like a flight-of-fancy manga adaptation, except it's actually an original story from Taiwan director Wang Ye Ming. This fun and bewildering film is all the more entertaining for enlisting the A-list Pan-Asian cast of F4 heartthrob Vic Chou (Linger), popular Japanese actress Toda Erika (Death Note: The Last Name), acclaimed actor Kagawa Teruyuki (Tokyo Sonata), top Taiwan actress Janine Chang (what on earth have I done wrong?!), and Hong Kong veteran Eric Tsang to play along with serious faces. Even the scroll painting-inspired animation sequence that opens the film is first-rate, the work of noted Japanese animation house Studio 4C° (Tekkon Kinkreet). With Vic Chou's charismatic turn and Toda Erika's shojo heroine cuteness leading the way, Tea Fight joyfully throws convention out the window for a completely unexpected and undeniably amusing tea adventure. In days of yore in ancient China, there were two legendary teas that outshone them all: Male Golden Tea and Female Golden Tea. Male Golden Tea makes drinkers aggressive, while Female Golden Tea is calming; and the two teas combined holds the key to immortality itself. The two prestigious houses of tea face off in a do-or-die tea-tasting competition, or tea fight if you will, in which the Female Golden Tea prevails. Enraged by the loss, the supporters of Male Golden Tea exterminate the house of Female Golden Tea in a fiery rampage. But a few previous leaves of Female Golden Tea are rescued by a visiting Japanese tea master, and passed down from generation to generation to the present day. The tea's current owner, Yagi Kei (Kagawa Teruyuki) wants nothing to do with it, blaming his family's misfortunes on the curse of the golden tea.
Yagi's daughter Mikiko (Toda Erika), however, wants to reunite the Female and Male Golden Teas to lift the curse, and force her drunken father to shape up. Against her father's wishes, Mikiko heads to Taiwan to study tea. There she crosses paths with Yang (Vic Chou), an enigmatic and possibly dangerous tea dealer who's determined to acquire the Female Golden Tea.
