  • The Garden Of Sinners - Theatrical Feature 4: Garan no Do (DVD) (First Press Limited Edition) (Japan Version) DVD Region 2 Sakamoto Maaya | Honda Takako | Suzumura Kenichi
Created by Type-Moon founders Nasu Kinoko and illustrator Takeuchi Takashi, The Garden of Sinners (a.k.a. Kara no Kyoukai) started out in 1998 as an internet light novel. The supernatural fantasy attracted a huge online following and eventually made it to print form, selling over 500,000 copies. Set in the same world as Type-Moon's Tsukihime, The Garden of Sinners revolves around the investigation of paranormal incidents by the trio of sorceress and detective agency proprietor Aozaki Tohko, her assistant Kokuto Mikiya, and Ryogi Shiki, a detached teenage girl with the ability to see and kill death.

Starting in 2007, The Garden of Sinners began its life on the big screen as a seven-chapter animated film series with animation by ufotable, the studio behind the Tales of Symphonia OVA. Directed by Takiguchi Shinichi, the fourth chapter Garan no Do (a.k.a. Void Shrine), was released on May 24, 2008. Set between the events of the second and third chapters, Garan no Do flashes back again to further reveal the characters' backstory. From her new employee Kokuto Mikiya, Aozaki Tohko hears about the mysterious story of Ryogi Shiki, a girl who fell into a coma after an accident two years ago around the time a series of murders struck their town. Strangely enough, her body has stopped growing or changing since the accident.

Oshii Mamoru's pioneering cyberpunk classic Ghost in the Shell returns to the big screen in 2008! Ghost in the Shell 2.0 (not to be confused with Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence) is a reproduced version of the original film with new 3D visual effects, newly recorded dubbing, and a renewed soundtrack in 6.1 Channel Surround.

First released in 1995, Ghost in the Shell has long become one of the most representative works in Japanese animation. One of the first anime films to cross over to the mainstream in the West, Ghost in the Shell captivated audiences worldwide with its stunning animation, complex storyline, and existential themes, and went on to launch a franchise with sequels and TV anime series. Based on Shiro Masamune's manga, the visionary sci-fi actioner is set in a cyber-infused world of the future where Major Kusanagi Motoko and her partner Batou work for Section 9, an elite crime-fighting unit specializing in technology-related crimes. Kusanagi is investigating a mysterious hacker known only as the Puppet Master. The case leads them to an escaped cyborg without any human brain cells, and yet seems to have a "ghost" within.
